TANT maintains that whilst rents may need to increase they should be affordable for local people to remain in the areas where they and their families may have lived for generations.Our representative said at the National Trust's own AGM in Swindon last November that the Trust is not required by the Charity Commissioners to achieve the highest rents and that they should charge affordable rents and in so doing sustain rural communities and maintain the good name of the Trust.
